About

"Our landlocked pub could have a sea view!” Or “I’d love our dull outside wall to be a Wild Garden”. Or “Why can’t our restaurant look and feel like Italy as well as taste of it?”

When I started to talk to close ones about taking the leap from hobbyist to pro, three separate friends all pronounced mural as “Muriel” and it got me thinking.

Muriel has been a recurring name in my past. My best friend and I named a friendly swan ‘Muriel’ when we were at school and we continue to use the name in our greetings cards 25 years later. When I was only 14, I played a goat called Muriel in George Orwell’s Animal Farm and so all subsequent goats have been named the same. But perhaps the thing that resonated most is the fact that Muriel is an English name derived from Celtic elements meaning “sea” and “bright”. So, as a Cornish born Mural artist, this was just meant to be.

Plus, everyone keeps talking about the name because people love to spot a mistake. :)

So, the next time you catch yourself thinking, “There’s a boring space”, think about My Muriel and me!

Mission

My mission is to transform empty and wasted spaces into vibrant canvases of inspiration, sparking a renewed sense of community pride and connection. Through our artistry, I aim to encourage people to see the potential for beauty and creativity in the overlooked corners of their neighbourhoods and homes.

Vision

I believe that every blank wall holds the promise of a masterpiece. Through creative vision, I aim to help foster a world where communities embrace the power of art to enrich their surroundings, forging deeper connections and leaving a legacy of beauty and inspiration for generations to come.
